A longstanding commitment to the environment

As a leading supplier of contract furniture in the UK, Geometric Furniture has taken the design and manufacture of furniture, aimed at both the traditional and contemporary sectors, to new heights. This experience and working knowledge of the contract market enables the company to provide products and services to the highest of standards and puts the company at the forefront of the contract furniture market.

The company also takes a lot of time and effort to ensure it does everything it can to minimise any damage to the environment during the production processes. To its knowledge, Geometric Furniture is the most environmentally-friendly contract furniture supplier in the UK. For instance, it meets and surpasses the guidelines on pollution control as laid out by the government. Below are some of the systems it has in place.

Waste disposal system
A state of the art incinerator disposes of any waste that cannot be recycled and burns any dust that otherwise would be released into the atmosphere. The heat generated is used to warm the building and water. This system destroys potentially damaging waste materials and avoids the need for landfill disposal sites. It also reduces the amount of gas and electric required to heat the building.

Sustainable forests
Wherever possible, the wood the firm uses to make the furniture is purchased from sustainable forests, where a minimum of 65 per cent of the trees cut down are replanted by hand to ensure the forest can return to its previous size within a short period of time.

Pollution prevention
The company fully complies with the "authorised process" PG6/33 2004 as detailed in "Pollution Prevention Controls 1999". This relates to control and reduction of harmful emissions and substances created during production processes.
